Description
The Fair Isle Knitting Workshop includes:
Fair Isle knitting tips, tricks, and techniques
A guided exploration of traditional Fair Isle patterns and motifs
An explanation of ideal yarn properties for Fair Isle knitting
A discussion of Fair Isle knitwear design, including color dominance and color theory
A Fair Isle knitted hat-blocking explanation
A steeking discussion on how and why to safely cut your knitting
During the workshop, students will be knitting the Knitting Jenny pattern that they individually selected.
Bring your
standard knitting tools and notions
yarn (Must be purchased separately. Refer to your individual pattern for the recommended yarn.)
pattern (Must be purchased separately at www.knittingjenny.com/. You may choose any Fair Isle or stranded colorwork pattern. Each pattern is $10.
To get the most out of the class do the homework: start your project and knit until the fair isle section.
Knit-in with Jenny
Registration for this class includes the opportunity to attend a knit-in with Jenny on Saturday, June 20th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. You will be prompted to choose if you will attend the knit-in when you click the ADD TO CART button.
