I
based it on the scribble lace technique and looked
at the Loopy
and Luscious Shawl in Knitty. I used some handspun
I bought from Dyeabolical Yarns and for the mohair
I used Rowan Kidsilk Spray, which I ran out of and
had to beg for more.

The
yarn is Berocco Comfort, a combination of acrylic
and nylon. The pattern is the cover wrap from Vogue
spring 2010, in gray. It was a 'knit- along'
at Hearthstone, but I didn't manage to make any of
the sessions. The size is a bit different, due to
the change of yarn. The body is a candle-flame lace
variation; I think it's a good starter lace pattern.
The edging is knit separately, then attached to the
body with three-needle bind off. I added beads
as I was binding off. I got the beads to coordinate
with the yarn at Ladybud Beads in Webster Groves.

The
yarn is a cotton yarn from Laines Du Nord called Papiro.
"The lace pattern is a modified version of feather
and fan and I sort of adapted the vest from another
pattern that I had." |
